    Dedication

I’d like to dedicate this book to all the people who have helped me along my way.

To all the people who extended their homes, sofas, and hearts to me.

To those who stitched up my wounds in trauma.

To my mother, Shandra Allison who has taught me so much about life.

    To my father, Maverick Gaither

To my son whom I love more than life.

To Nakeda. Who called me the Lords author.

To broken spirits. And women everywhere. This is for you.

    Introduction

I want you to be confident in this. That you are not alone. You are not the first woman to be abused. You are not the first woman to be rejected. You are not the first woman who has made it their life’s obsession to be with a man. You are not the first woman whose pillows are more like water beds from the amounts of tears you’ve cried because you just wanted to be loved.

I invite you right from this very place to establish a connection to your own vulnerability while reading this. I mean it. From this very moment. Take your make up off. Cry it off. Pull your tissues out. Grab your journal. If you don’t get anything else from this read, I want you to finally get this fact plan and clear. THERE IS SOMEONE OUT HERE WHO KNOWS YOUR PAIN, AND IS EQUATED WITH YOUR STRUGGLE.

You don’t have to know me. I don’t have any degrees or pedigrees. I have not been schooled professionally in literature. I don’t have Joyce Meyer writing my forwards…yet... But what I do have is experience. I have a me too in my spirit, and sometimes that’s enough.  Sometimes you just need someone to have been where you’ve been. Walked where you have walked, and consequently may have done some of the stupid things we can subject ourselves to when we think we are in love.

Wise as a Serpent, Harmless as a Dove is a judgement free zone. This book is but a mirror. A mirror of one’s poor decisions turned redeemed by the only one able to fix it. Jesus. This book will give you the blueprints on what not to do, and a clear understanding of how we operate when our minds are held captive by idolatry. Burdened by rebellion, and casted away by false hopes in the expectation that any man can fill the perpetual voids left only for the skillset of God.

So again, feel free to be free. Clear your mind. I won’t be before you long. Just enough for it to count.  Feeling used…me too... Feeling broken. Me too. Tired of running in circles and chasing your own tail... Me too.  Pull up a seat. Get real comfortable. Let’s see if we can figure this thing out together with the help of the Lord.  I LOVE YOU.
