Preface
I dedicate this book to those who have suffered or are suffering some kind of illness or disability; with the hope they will find solace and refuge in the words I have written.
Special Thanks: Masha S.
Afflicted
My quotes and poems are mainly,
for those with an affliction-
whether if it’s from ,
an unfortunate physical or mental condition;
it is to provide solace and peace of mind-
is my intended mission.
My words are free not bound –
to any particular cause or group interest-
they are for all to enjoy and appreciate;
the message the words interpret-
a bridge to a world of the sufferer –
to narrow the gap,
for those who don’t care,
because for many-
it is business as usual and of them;
they are unaware.
Because of them –
we have a fighting chance,
together we can forge links-
for a better tomorrow.
Remembering that night and day-
is for all to enjoy and borrow,
my quotes and poems-
are mainly for those with an affliction.
Introduction
One question to this today, I ask myself is why am I so interested in writing poetry? Was it the feeling of my emptiness wanting to help others when no one was at my side? Or the satisfaction I got when I read my poem to a friend and seeing the smile it brought upon to their face?
My curiosity actually started when I was in junior high school and I read my first poem which was Tell-Tale Heart
by Edgar Allen Poe. After I read this poem, I was so fascinated by his words of rhyme that any chance I got I would read his book. Of course, kids at that age especially boys are into playing sports but
