I wish to thank Alcoholics Anonymous co-founders Bill W. and Dr. Bob for their incredible work in getting Alcoholics Anonymous off the ground beginning in 1935. I must also thank the thousands of AA members who have helped me over the past 21 years. And I must of course thank my Higher Power (Who I often refer to as God) for overseeing this miraculous fellowship and spiritual 12-step program from its earliest beginnings until today and into the foreseeable future.
I am one of millions of drunks who was able to stop drinking thanks to AA and God as I understand God.

FROM THE AUTHOR
By no means can his book be used to replace AA’s Big Book, the "12 and 12" or any other aspect of AA. To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing in this book which contradicts anything contained in the AA literature.
For me, and for many other AA members (who have used the worksheets), the 4th Step worksheets contained in this book have proved to be a valuable tool to accomplishing this inventory step. Each of the four Step 4 worksheets include prayers suggested in Chapter 5 of the Big Book. The majority of other Step 4 worksheet
approaches do not include any prayers and this is one reason why the worksheets in this book are very powerful.
The Step 6 and 7 approach described in this book provides the individual doing the steps with a simple yet powerful way to use prayer with respect to his or her own individual character defects.
The most significant change in this most recent revision is that I’ve added a new appendix entitled Sponsoring Others
which includes my general approach for sponsoring new AA members into the 12 Steps. It is my hope that this appendix might be helpful to other sponsors in their individual approach to sponsoring their sponsees.
I also moved the definitions of the character defects contained in Worksheet 5 of Step 6 to the discussion portion of Step 6 and edited out the religious references previously contained in Appendix V.
I have also added what I consider a very powerful poem which contains Alcohol’s Promises
to those alcoholics who decide to continue drinking (see Appendix VI).
Please note that where I have used individual names in this book, the names have been changed.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank AA (Bill, Bob and all who have followed) for:
All the wonderful relationships I have today with thousands of people,
2. My relationship with God, as I understand God,
3. All of the serenity and peace of mind I have today,
