Writing poetry
(about nature and things)
Like Rhode Island leaves
(like how the seasons change and so do we)
Like Snowflake's individuality
(like how individuals are all unique)
Like Sun's rays plurality
(like celestial bodies' intentionality)
Like Rain drop's pond ripples
(like how every action has a myriad of effects)
Like Child's smile dent dimples
(like how children are innocent and perfect)
Like Ochre mud bay mud
(like specific and obscure adjectives for colors)
Like Horse hoof's thud
(like how freedom is beautiful and fleeting)
Like Spring rainbow season
(like how beauty is found in ordered diversity)
Like Nature's indifferent reason
(like how they have an anthropocentric purpose)
Like Butterflies' fancy
(like how nature must be beautiful to the eye)
Like Long lost auntie
(like the special family member who died)
Like Childhood memory
(like bittersweet nostalgic narcissism)
Like how nature cleverly
makes poets its own.
Orbital Correction
I can relate to the Hubble space telescope.
We were both in need of optic correction,
our maker's imperfect perfection,
fixed by expensive optometry session.
