Introduction
This book is about us as women, single women being a team, single women as a unique corporate division, learning from our life experiences and sharing them with others. Throughout this book I use the word we
because we are all in this together. I reference us
and we
because when one woman, who is our grandmother, mother, aunt, niece, sister and daughter fail, we all are unsuccessful. There are ways we can pull together and make sure we cover one another.
Our decisions can encompass legitimacy by deciding not to engage in unfruitful relationships and relationships with men that are in relationships with our sisters. When I say sisters, I don’t just mean blood sisters, but sisters as women. We should not shack up, cheat, or intervene in other women’s relationships or business that will cause detriment. Likewise, we should only build, uplift, edify, and restore one another. Plain ignorance makes us desire to be what is currently known as a side chick.
It is we who can survive and conquer anything. We have to change our perceptions about one another and start fortifying our thoughts towards each other.
We must care enough for one another that we recognize ourselves when we see each other. Our shortcomings, mistakes, and bad choices have all been made by each of us. No one is better than the other and we all hurt, cry, laugh, and want to be loved.
This book talks about many of our indiscretions that we encountered while trying to find love. We will read about and review areas that we must unmask if we desire to move forward. So many years we have covered up our faces for fear of dealing with painful experiences. However, that can happen no longer.
We as women must apply healing to our very souls, so that we are able to heal others. We have been barren, unproductive, and unfruitful in a time when we should have been the most bountiful. We have put off our desires and sacrificed our fortunes, with nothing in return. Well, it is time that we realize we need each other and the only way to truly help one another is that we first help ourselves.
Let the unmasking, unveiling, and unbinding begin from within us, so that we can set nations free. We have been bound too long and settling even longer without proper cause or reason. We have to arrive at our destination, but be cognizant of those that we must reach on the way. The reality of our lives is that we are to function in a way that our environment and surroundings promote life and liberty.
We were raised in a family that taught us to do everything right; make the right decisions, go to the right places, have the right friends, and do what is right according to the bible. Our mother taught us to always understand and know what the truth is with the expectation of us applying to our daily lives. She told us everything to do and not to do; as well, she demonstrated it by following her own teachings as our example.
Nevertheless, of course as we all have done and sometimes still do, we do not always listen. The very moment we are told not to do something, is when we try to figure out every way we can do it. We just cannot seem to leave well enough alone and take heed to instructions and wise counsel. We patiently wait and devise a plan to see if everything we were told is actually true. Similar to how Eve received instructions not to eat of a certain tree, but she found a way to test to see if what had been said was true.
We always find a way to place the liability on someone or something else, but the reality that we must face is that many things we do and say comes from the inside of us. We harbor all of the duplicitous little things that we want to
