    Chapter One

    Kunle still marvels about the event.

    'It is always like a dream ' he said to himself.

    Five years ago, he had a marvellous encounter.

    Everyone had given up on him except of course his parents. Even he gave up.

    He saw almost every specialist in the country. The last was in Kano. He thought that was too far away but to his amazement his parents arranged it. However, the specialist could not help him because if such a surgery was done, it might result in death; according to the doctor. 

    'Is it not better to die, than this'? Kunle had told himself.

    Imagine going through the horror of the worst case of epilepsy for twenty-four years.

    Even the churches and prayer centres could not help him; they tried their best to no avail.

    Initially, his father would not agree with the strong pressures from the extended families to try the native doctors.

    'I will never bow to an idol' he said.

    But after ten years of pain and hopelessness he concurred. And the herbalists tried their best also. However, their efforts were not good enough. All kinds of sacrifices were made. Fortunes were wasted on rituals. But it was all futile.
