About the author:

Antonio Pérez Hernández is a Primary Education teacher (specialising in Music Education, Hearing and Language and Therapeutic Pedagogy). He has a Master’s in Research and Innovation in Education. His cum laude doctoral thesis evaluated linguistic communication competence through story telling in Primary Education.

He was a runner-up in the Nemira Literary Creation Prize and finalist in the Certamen Internacional de Novela Fantástica y de Terror Dagón. He has published more than 30 books, which have been translated into seven languages: Greek, German, Portuguese, Italian, English, French and Dutch.

He now combines his teaching work with writing.

Christmas was just around the corner.

And Manuel loved Christmas.

He adored it.

Manuel was convinced that Christmas was the most wonderful time of the year.

Unlike the other kids in his class, Manuel didn’t care about Christmas lights. In fact, when he walked down the street, he didn’t even bother to look at the multi-coloured lights that were strung up in his village. 

For him, that was all a waste of time.

A total waste of time.

He wasn’t interested in sweet Christmas treats either. Mince pies, advent calendar chocolates, Yule log, Christmas cake...
