About this ebook

Any reader can use this workbook for The Tattooist of Auschwitz: A novel by Heather Morris and find immediate help in applying its major lessons.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Heather Morris’ first novel, is a fictional retelling of Lale Sokolov’s experience as the tattooist of the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp in World War II. Her story centered on Lale’s bravery, survival, and most of all, his hopeful and timeless love for his fellow prisoner, Gita Furman. Upon the round-up calls of Nazi Germans for “work”, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, volunteered to be sent in order for his family to be saved from forced labor, not knowing where he will be sent to and what will happen to him. He ended up like other Jews during the time of the Holocaust: they were sent to concentration camps for forced labor. There, he was able to make friends—Jews and Germans alike—and became the camp tattooist. He detested it at first but later on he realized its advantage after he was smitten by the lady he was re-inking. At times of daily uncertainty and deathly struggles, Lale must hold on to his spark of hope to survive the war, be liberated, and reunite with his true love.
The Tattooist of Auschwitz was the Number 1 New York Times Bestseller of 2018. This critically- acclaimed debut novel of Heather Morris has also been the Number 1 International Bestseller of 2018.
