101 Frugal Witch Tips
Save your incense ash. It can be used to represent air or fire in spellwork. It can also be mixed with salt to make a basic black salt.
Collect the ashes by putting a plate under the incense holder or by sweeping up after it burns out, and store the ash in some kind of airtight container until you need it.
Save your glass food jars. They're great for storing herbs or stones, and they're perfect for a quick witch's ball
and a wide variety of jar spells. Be sure to clean your jars thoroughly, and use soap and hot water or rubbing alcohol to remove the labels. Small jars can be set inside of larger jars to save space.
Can't find affordable colored candles? Use birthday candles! They burn fast, but they do the trick. Not only do birthday candles come in a variety of colors, they also come in various shapes like numbers and animals, which can make them particularly useful in certain spells. Check dollar stores for the best deals.
When decorating for the Sabbats (or any other spiritual holiday), look in your yard, a friend's yard, or a local park for natural items to use. Nature offers a lot of beautiful things that are completely free. Just be sure to ask permission before taking things from someone else's property, and show respect when taking from a live plant.
Put a heavy pendant or ring on a necklace for a quick makeshift pendulum. You can even use a needle or paperclip hung from a string. Some witches believe that a pendant on a chain makes a better pendulum due to the fact that it's connecting to, and being charged by, your personal energy whenever you wear it.
