About this ebook
Songs of better days is a new selection of poetry by award winning Irish poet and writer, Kevin McManus.
As Winter ends and the wheel of the year keeps turning, we dream of brighter days.
As the light begins to rise and the dark recedes with the coming of the sun from out of the cold shadows, we hope and dream of better days. The poems are an elegiac homage to the succession of the seasons.
"The poems are rooted in themes related to rural Ireland, past and present and at all times respect the journey of the soul. One can clearly feel a sense of "your soul coming up to breathe" as the pages turn.
Nature, the seasons, the ancient traditions and the struggles of the human heart and soul all intertwine to create "a place of peace and hope and a solace that is serene and still"
Yvonne Brewer, poet
