Preface
It has been a long journey to muster some bravery to put my works out into the wild world of publishing. It took me sixteen years and a lifetime to get here. I always knew that one day I would make a book, but I did not think that it would be my poem collection. And yet, here we are.
I had discovered poetry when I was in fourth grade. My English teacher kept from making us memorise weird poems that I did not understand in their deep context of romance and adulthood but then, I loved the profundity of words. Poems moved me.
Then came my 20s. I started writing poems. I knew I had that capacity to create beauty in words, other than paintings. It was just a great way to interpret pop culture's drama, romance, suspense and all its great curiosities. I easily cry watching movies and TV shows, so I tend to assimilate myself into characters and write the poems, imagining what they must have felt. I tried poetry slamming on internet chatrooms as well, and thankfully I kept those works.
I intermittently write, never forced. I always have a notebook with me for work, and you'll find random poems in between my work notes. Most of these poems are concocted during my travels – waiting at the airport while people-watching, on the plane, ferry boat, long drives… the best times to let my imagination run wild. Mind you, I am a Piscean.
Last year was extraordinarily challenging and life-changing for me. It gave me a new path to think through life and how to turn things around. This is
