About this ebook
I must advise that some. of my stories do touch on situations that may cause offense and if you require any help with some of the aspects I touch on in this novel then speak to your local health provider or if you are UK based you can call Samaritans on 116 123
Here you will find some of my favourite short stories that I have created and a little bit about the history behind all the stories and why I created them. From the jarring aggression of Love Changes everything, to the poignant the weary soldier and the fascinating what has happened to Amanda and Vision of life. It is quite a strong mix
Dean Hodsfry
Dean has been writing since he was in his late teens just over 20 years ago. Born and bred in rural South Wales. Dean would spend most of his evenings in his bedroom, creating all sorts of weird and crazy ideas both for his writing and for his hobbies. Dean drew on the rolling welsh hills of his home town for some of his inspiration. Dean left his homeland in the early '00s, to seek better employment. On his travels, he had met a young girl and decided to move to Oxfordshire to be with her. He has currently been married since 2005 to that same girl and she is fully behind him with his writing and has even started working on her own story. Dean has a young daughter who is two year's old. Currently, Dean is living with his wife and daughter in the lovely town of Bicester, although fully employed he does dedicate some his time to writing and has several projects on the go at the moment.

Foreword & Introduction
Hello and welcome to this compendium of short stories. Firstly, before I tell you about the content let me tell you a little about me.
My name is Dean Hodsfry, I am in my early forties, I am married to a wonderful and patient woman called Katherine, and we have a beautiful daughter called Alyssia. I currently live in Bicester, Oxfordshire and for our international readers it is the UK, and for our national readers just google Bicester Village it is a large shopping precinct with all of the clothing designers we all know and love. (I am not getting any sponsorship from Bicester village by the way!!)
I have been writing for nigh on over 20 years. I usually write either medieval fantasy or short ghost stories. I remember my first attempt at writing it was an attempt to write about Dungeons & Dragons that kick-started my fascination into all things fantasy. I found that when I was at school, I had such an active imagination and when I finally could not imagine anymore I had to write my ideas down which was such a release. When I was down in my mother’s I came across one of my old workbooks, with comments from the teachers, that I must try harder does not have the vision to succeed well this is two fingers up to them.
One of my projects at the moment is the first in The Doomsday Saga Novel one is called The Doomsday Saga: The Shield Of Virtue. If you are interested, I have put the first chapter right at the end of this book. Enjoy! It is currently not yet for sale but if you want to get a copy please drop me an email with your thoughts and I will reserve one for you when it comes out.
As a sideline, I am also working on a series of Novella called The Harbinger Chronicles based on an Assassin in Thebes, ancient Greece, notoriously known as The Harbinger we follow him on a quest to kill all the people who murdered his loved ones as well as his paid employment.
I am looking at creating a series of short stories for primary age children (elementary school age if your American) based around a selection of pets with overtones of learning, think similar to Aesop's fables but based around pets.
Back to this book, here you will find some of my favourite short stories that I have created and a little bit about the history behind all the stories and why I created them. From the jarring aggression of Love Changes everything, to the poignant the weary soldier and the fascinating what has happened to Amanda and Vision of life. It is quite a strong mix I must say anyway enough of my ramblings.
I hope that you enjoy these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Kind regards
Dean

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
The frost lay thick on the concrete of the entrance to Oxford airport. Jane rushed through to the waiting room anticipation rising in her stomach, her palms were sweaty; Jane did not care as she only had five minutes to wait until her darling beloved came to see her. Jane still has not quite forgiven him for moving to Jersey five years ago, the feeling he left her with was certainly unforgivable he left her all alone at her time in need. She had lost their baby and things had never been the same. Silence was the only language they spoke these days.
There he was smiling at her, and Jane was
