About this ebook
The Leader’s Armour draws hidden wisdom from the ancient military experiences and reveals the key truths about the nature of leadership. The good and the bad of ancient combats; mechanisms of warfare; the function of an armor; and the dynamics of the legions engaging in war, brings us back to the foundation of human interaction and most significantly, a leader’s heart in leading.
Throughout this leadership book, we will rediscover the period between the ancient empires (that highlights the Greeks, Romans, Hebrews, and Egyptians amongst others), up till the late antiquity period of Medieval times; to explore what did and didn’t work in the military leadership of the ancient times.
In essence, we will:
• Gain leadership strategies from ancient military leaders and influencers.
• Explore helpful leadership skills and leadership qualities from great leaders of the antiquity.
• Apply these hidden truths into modern leadership theories and paradigms.
• Uncover the ways leaders can achieve results, effectively and exponentially.
Not only do we need leaders to diversify themselves, we also need leadership values that bring leaders from different sectors together. The Leader’s Armour strives to solve this dilemma, while showing the direction leaders need to be the right players, in the right place, and for the right people.
Your leadership challenges can no longer hold you back from leading your team and the people in your organization successfully. But the question is – are you ready for the transformation?

The Purpose
I don’t write books to deliver new concepts and theories, an overnight formula to success, or even an awakening,
so to say. My purpose as an author and as the firestarter of Full Impact Coaching & Consulting is to help individuals discover their occupational callings, and more importantly – to help manifest an organizational convergence between leaders, teams, and employees.
Over the folds of my career, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside decision-makers and leaders with various vantage points on leadership, and much recently, with coaches who are alike to me, exploring and discussing the vanguard of modern leadership. Yet one thing has remained clear to me – there is no perfect leader.
John J. Pershing, a U.S. Army general in World War I, said, A competent leader can get efficient service from poor troops, while on the contrary an incapable leader can demoralize the best of troops.
A statement that holds true for business leaders today, leadership can be good
or bad
– and this is a reality that somewhat many of us are exposed to.
Hence, The Leader’s Armour is dedicated to finding the balance between both. This book will dive deeper into the realities of leadership; enter into the leader’s identity; and challenge his insights and perspectives in leadership. This is why I write and coach on leadership, among other arenas of personal development and professional development and continually find meaning in doing so.
The Learning Methodology
This book is designed to help you learn through a learning approach I call Antiquity Learning.
By analysing ancient generals and leaders from the Medieval ages, we will rediscover the agedness
of leadership, and how its raw potentials still powerfully apply to modern day leadership.
The time frame of the ancient world covers the distant past, especially the period in history before the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The civilized peoples, nations, and cultures of antiquity are usually preceded by the Hebrews, Greeks, Romans, and Egyptians. But for the purpose of this book, I am also including the ancient Japanese and Taoist framework of reference among others.
This book will also consider some parts of the framework that Full Impact Coaching & Consulting uses for its coaching and consulting services – discussing our calling, conversion of character, clarity and convergence with what we are meant to do. By tracking through this progressive learning approach, The Leader’s Armour will help you identify your true nature
as a leader and how you can nurture growth in your leadership from that point of contact.
The Transformation
There is no unified theory of leadership. There are too many theories, too many definitions, and too many disciplines. We do not agree on what leadership really is, why we study it, and how to study it. What we know is leadership is multifaceted and essentially contested. The Leader’s Armour will help strip off the many definitions of leadership you know of, unlearn some leadership patterns, and consider the simple fact that leadership simply starts with you.
Too many leaders are dynamic enough to be revolutionary. Too few are willing to take actions. Too many leaders are worried about learning the mystery of leadership. Too few realize the secret is buried in them. Too many leaders desire to improve their leadership qualities. Too few refine their character attitudes. So, through this book, I will help you do the talk.
The Leader’s Armour will also help you overcome the lack of clarity in your personal journey and your leadership style; allow your raw nature as a leader to emerge in your sphere of influence; establish boundaries in your leadership – and restore the health
of your leadership.
The Collaboration
This book involves hours of face-to-face interviews, discussions, surveys, and research studies. Included in the list is testimonies of industry leaders, employers, decision-makers in organisation, as well as employees and aspiring individuals
