    Welcome to this small book—a medley of Word Gifts, one given each Christmas for the last thirty years!

    You might wonder, what is a Word Gift? For me, it is a very par­ticular choice of words especially chosen for a special person or special persons. These particular words, you feel, may touch another heart and/or soul through: humor, pathos, fellowship, common interests, a variety of forms…It is one more way to reach out, connect!

    A Word Gift can be as brief as a quote, a poem/prose, a short story, legend from another source—shared and referenced by you, OR from your head and heart. They are used for a variety of occasions: weddings, births, birthdays, bereavement, anniversaries, thank-yous, congratulations, OR just because. For whatever means or for whatever reasons you choose to I share, it is your way of saying, I am thinking especially of you.
