Floor.
Floor feels really good right now…
As I’m coming to, that’s where I notice I am.
On the floor in front of the toilet of the tambo allocated to me at the retreat center in the middle of the Peruvian jungle.
The second time passing out.
It feels like I cannot move.
And I know I need help.
Now!
It comes to me that I’d called out the name of the assistant manager before I lost consciousness and fell.
I’m trying ‘Help!’ now, and also ‘Ayuda!’ (which is Spanish for ‘Help’.)
Finally, one of the indigenous workers hears me and appears at my entrance door. I manage to tell him in Spanish to look for the assistant manager and ask him to come as quickly as possible.
I feel so weak.
I can’t, and don’t want to, move.
Standing up is not an option, as it makes me faint, lose consciousness and collapse right away.
I’m not going to try that a third time.
The urge to go to the bathroom has left. I must have been able to pass the diarrhea somewhere in between. At this point I’m so catatonic, I don’t care.
I just want it to stop.
The images I’m seeing now, even with my eyes open, aren’t unpleasant. Whatever is going on is just too much for my nervous system and my circulation.
Why do I have to experience this?
Because I handed my power over…
Chapter 1
In my life I’ve never been into drugs and have never tried any.
Not even weed.
And I never smoked.
Yes, when I was 16, 17, 18 years old, I was in Paris a lot and it was kind of ‘chic’ or cool to be holding a cigarette and pretending. I didn’t inhale the smoke and I hated the smell and taste of it.
As I started embarking on my personal healing path, exploring various healing modalities, it turned out that especially with homeopathic treatment, drugs are actually counteracting the healing or slowing it down significantly, to the point of making it impossible. This obviously supported my being adamantly against drug use.
There was also an aspect of fear of having a substance ‘take over’ and my not being in control of my mental faculties anymore.
