Poop! Random Words, Musings and Insight - Lawrence Jean-Louis

    INTRODUCTION

    Ideas are worthless without action.

Poop! Random, Words, Musings and Insight is the byproduct of introspection, of a flawed human being attempting to grow, and share some of the resources that provided nourishment for their soul during the process.

It's about learning to be vulnerable, be honest, be open and also publish some words that I've written but never... and would've never have been able to write had something, had a force greater than myself not seen fit to share that ability with me.

    CHAPTER 1

Accept yourself with all your mistakes—all of your so-called sins, all the times you looked like a fool, and all the times you’ve acted inappropriately. You must be able to stand before the entire world and make no excuse for yourself. When you can do that, you’re coming from a position of unconditional love.

    LIFE:

    WHERE IS THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL?

Life should've came with instructions. At least that way, I would've missed out on a series of mistakes, some extremely painful ones, made along the way.

But had it come with instructions, I might've missed out on important lessons learned in the process. I might've missed out on the random acts of foolishness which shaped my earlier years.

On August 18, 2019... I turned 37. Some people might've thought, Oh no, I'm almost 40. For me, it was more... Oh no, I'm back to living with my parents. How did I get here?

[As I write this now, my first thought should've been 'Thank you for letting me see another year].

After much introspection, reading, growing... I'm slowly learning to shape myself into a person that I'm proud of. Following and getting involved in things which are important to me, but had never pursued in the past. Getting out of my shell. Learning to communicate openly and honestly again. Which I used to think was a character fault, after once giving a person my honest opinion after they'd asked me to guess their age. Seeing the flash of hurt in their eyes, I tried to under guess in order to make amends, but the damage had been done.

So, who am I? Why am I writing this book... and why are you reading it?

I was born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti in 1982 at L'Hospital St. Justinien, where my mom worked. Down the street, in one corner would be my future school... on the other, my brother's.

To the best of my recollection, my childhood was fun. How many people can say they'd attended parties of family friends, at age 5 or so, and could be found sitting around nursing a Heineken while half falling asleep.

There's three of us. My sister, Shirley, the eldest. My brother, Jerry, the middle child and "only
