Love You Zindagi - Gulnaaz Saif
My love
SAYED SAIF RASOOL
DEDICATED TO YOU
My chubby Hubby,
The universe has conspired our meeting.
We met and tied the auspicious wedding knot.
We have shared a beautiful journey of togetherness. You have made me fall in love with my life.
So this is a small token of love for you, my love.
SPECIAL THANKS
I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to those who have been instrumental in making this book realized, written and published.
I would start by thanking my lovely husband, Sayed Saif e Rasool. From patiently listening to my story to modifying it to helping me design the cover page to giving me advice on the video trailer to keeping my munchkin away from me so that I could edit, he was as important to get this book done as I was.
Thanks to my readers. You are the reason I write books. Thank you so much for reading my book and appreciating it. You fill me with zeal and enthusiasm.
A big thanks to my father in law, Sayed Ale Rasool, mother in law, Sharifun Nisha Sharfi, my father, Gul Mohammed Khan and mother, Shehnaaz Khanam for their love and support.
An extra dose of thanks to my siblings Junaid, Pari and cousins Kasish, Ishrat, Aadil and Samayera for all their strenuous efforts behind the scenes.
Sincere thanks to the fabulous team of my writing world Bikramaditya Jena for making the video trailer of the book, Debasish Sahoo for a fabulous website and all the technical assistance, and Sarat Kumar Nayak for the brilliant cover design.
Above all to my son Zaif who teaches me the meaning of love.
PROLOGUE
Life is all about God’s plan B when you are hyper focused on your plan A. We dream a lot about our future and plan our activities accordingly. Everybody craves a better fortune. They work day and night for it. A child dreams of being a doctor, prepares himself accordingly and out of nowhere, he becomes a great actor. When he delivers his thank you speech after winning the Oscar, he realizes that he was born for Oscar and not for the stethoscope.
As I hold this ‘SPEAKER OF THE YEAR’ award in my hand I perceive I was born for it and not for anything else my father has been trying to make me. As I stand beside this man of my life I realize that we were made for each other. I was never made for all those grooms we have rejected me for my repellent looks. Though those rejections agonized my heart then but today I would love to thank each and every person who has rejected me if I get a chance to meet them. Thank you, everyone, for discarding me in our arrange marriage set up. It is all because of you that I met this extremely kind and adorable man.
My Dad’s plan A of getting me extra graduation degree to veil my ill looks and win me a good groom went in vain as Almighty’s fortune pen had scripted a different story for me. So here are we Anoosha and Aarav sharing the same microphone to share our beautiful love tale.

THE ANNUAL EVENT
A s we are few steps away from summing up of this powerful, charismatic, dynamic and energetic annual event, I am honored and privileged to make the most significant and noteworthy announcement of the night.
Dear audience, raise your head and catch a glimpse of nature’s black canvas. Watch those shiny celestial objects. See there up in the sky. There is Sirius. Sirius! Do you know what it is? Do you know what does it mean? Sirius is a Greek word which means glowing. Yes, dear audience, Sirius is the brightest star in the earth’s night sky. Now, dear audience, look around yourself. There is a Sirius among us today. He is the Sirius of the Dreamland University. The man whose name is synonymous to victory, richness, success, stardom and happiness. The young boy who has drunk waters of education from the same Dreamland fountain, from where we are drinking today. He who is now one of the most successful entrepreneurs, a motivational speaker and an idol for young souls. Tonight we are here to honor him with the ‘Most Inspiring Alumni Award’ for his innovative business start-up; Thehosteller.com with a tagline ‘served in a blink’, a platform that caters A to Z needs of the hostellers making their lives easy and fun.
Amid your loudest applauds, please welcome the inspiring, the motivating sensation of the town, the star of the show MR AARAV SHARMA.
Mr Aarav, you have been a game-changer in the world full of players. You had the guts to think and act out of the box. You have risked your well-salaried job to do something extraordinary in life. You have deviated from your normal track and it’s worth a deviation.
Now I invite you to spare a few words of encouragement for the younger minds so that they take up your words paint their lives,
I Anoosha Deshmukh announced from behind the stage. I hosted from behind the stage because I am born with ill fate. People did not want to even glance at my poor visage. Those who glanced by chance immediately retreated their eyes in the same way as any superstitious Indian would retreat his path when it’s crossed by a black cat.
Aarav got up from his seat, wearing a charcoal black suit that was sharp looking and well fitted, exactly like a woman would choose for her man to wear for such an event. Of course, Mr Aarav was an eligible bachelor. This shows that he had a good sartorial choice. His white face sparkled as he walked towards the stage.
Trophies. Yes trophies, my dear are something that are earned during hard work and struggles and picked up at competitions. I owe all my success to my undaunting efforts and struggles. Since the day the super innovative idea has struck my mind, I have been consistent in my efforts.
I have broken new grounds with my bootstrapped startup thehostellers.com. A flash of blessing must have run across my head when my mind conceived this brilliant idea. At first, it seemed a pie in the sky. Yes, it was a big idea which seemed impossible to make real.
Hope.
Hope was something that kept me going. Let me tell a tale, ‘A tale of the hostel’. As many of you present here I was also a hosteller. As you can see our institute is spread across 20 square kilometers of land, as well as our campus is located on the outskirts of the city, away from all the hustle-bustle of city life where getting something urgently seemed nearly impossible. Moreover, the unavailability of the campus store added to our woes."
Every morning I used to wake up at the most unique alarm tone of the world. Every day I woke up to the complaint of hostellers and sadly my alarm had no snooze button.
It’s 8:30 a.m. thirty minutes in hand to get ready for class and I’m missing my toothbrush. A walk to the nearest local store and back here will eat my 20 minutes. Had it been a pencil or pen, I would have borrowed from someone but a toothbrush, how can someone use someone else’s toothbrush? Using someone else’s toothbrush sounds like befriending their mouth’s bacteria with your own. Befriending sounds good but befoeing can hike bank balance of the nearest doctor.
As soon as one has finished the other guy from the neighboring room would shout out loud, Holy shit! It’s my interview today and my dress is not ironed. How can I wear this unironed attire for my first interview? The interviewers will kick me out.
Yet another screaming tomorrow is the exam, who the hell is going to wash these many clothes? I wish I was at home. Mummy, I miss you. I really miss u. I miss the luxury and comfort of my home.
Hungry! I am hungry, my stomach is growling, added someone as I passed the fourth room from mine on the way to the washroom. I have emptied all my jars of stored food yesterday night during group study. What shall I eat now? I think I’ll die of starvation here.
This was a daily affair. Every morning was full of complaints. This was something I wanted to stop not because I wanted to do something for the students but just because it disturbed my morning sleep.
"Things went on as usual and my University days met its end. Life got harder and tougher. It demanded me to shoulder responsibilities. Surviving discipline at school and University, I had always desired to be free. While I was free the burden of responsibilities on my shoulder pressed my neck hard. I felt
