Jerry L Lane is one of twelve children of the late Abraham and Ella B Lane . Raised in the rural town of Morris Station, Georgia located in Randolph County. Educated in the Randolph County School system and graduated from Randolph County Comprehensive High School In Cuthbert, Georgia. After graduation of High School he Enlisted in the United States Army and served twenty one years; received many honors, awards and decorations. While in the Army he met and married Ms Evelyn Ray of Boston, Massachusetts and the had one daughter Crystal Nequess Lane. After retirement from the Army he attained his undergraduate degree; Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with Regents University of New York, located in Albany, New York. He earned his Master of Divinity, at Erskine Theological Seminary, in Due West, South Carolina. He is fortunate to have been given the opportunity to served as local pastor from West Germany to South, Carolina where he witness and shared God’s Word. During which time he lost his loving late wife of 26 years to her well fought battle and gained real meaning of life do to breast cancer. He continues cherishing the time he spends with his daughter and three wonderful grandchildren (Omarion Hammond, Cameron Hammond and Raelyn Hammond). He values being an intricate part of their development and life. Currently, he shares a meaningful relationship with Tyona Rose Singletary. Whom he shares many inspirational and motivational adventures. He resizes along the Palmetto Trail between Pomaria, South Carolina and Prosperity, South Carolina. Even though he is fully retired; Through the “Shown them We Care Foundation” , he do volunteering with at risk youth and children.

    Regularly, asking myself why is it so hard to follow through with what I know is right?

    I have fathered and raised my children the best way I knew how.

    I am not perfect and my children are not perfect. But they have developed into being responsible and functioning adults.

    Unfortunately, circumstances have it that I have the responsibility of raising grandchildren. Knowing that when one inherits someone that you inherit everything which comes with them. The history of my grandchildren has not been stable but dysfunctional, to say the least.

    Knowing this as grandparents we sought the professional medical advice from many counselors, with no avail.

    After finally tracking down an old friend, I called him and scheduled a lunch.

    The setting was strictly to get reacquainted with each over some Thai food.

    Some Thai sauce and curry duck with brown rice and salad certainly fulfilled our appetites. Catching up on sports and family are great places to start a conversation.
