How To Hear God—He Is Speaking To You

God Is Speaking, But You Do Not Recognize It

The problem is sometimes we do not recognize that the Lord is speaking to us and is providing the answers we are seeking. God is actively talking to us about our every move, decision, and choice, but we are missing it. He is answering our prayers for help and direction, but we do not ‘hear’ or catch His responses. The Bible says, Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is (Romans 12:2). Per this promise, God will make His replies to our requests perfectly clear. He will give us guidance and understanding as well as yes or no answers which can be open and closed doors.

The Lord caused this book to be written to help you understand and recognize some of the common ways God communicates with us. His replies are usually not given through His audible voice…so how does the creator of the universe speak to us? We ask the Lord for something, but we fail to catch His reply because we are not aware of the ways He employs to respond to our prayers.

This book will teach you various methods God does use to communicate with you. Once you comprehend how He converses with you, then you will be able to hear His guidance and understand His answers. This is the fun part because the means He uses to convey His responses can be astonishing and amazing, maybe even miraculous.

How could you do what God is asking you to do if you have no idea what it is that He is asking you to do? You want to hear from God—God wants you to hear from Him. He desires that you understand when He is speaking to you and what He is telling you. He intends to guide you in your decisions and choices because He comprehends what is best. He knows what His plans are for you, and His purpose is to make them perfectly clear.

Some of the ways God communicates or ‘speaks’ with you are listed below:

Read through various scriptures and Bible stories.

Think about what catches your attention when reading books or listening to sermons.

Note what thoughts come to mind while you are praying. Also, Give God time to speak to you during your prayer time.

Discern the true meaning behind your circumstances.

Look closely at open doors of opportunity and especially closed doors.

Pay attention when several people are saying the same things to you.

Consider any patterns in your experiences.

Watch for God’s confirmations.

Finally, assess if there is ‘complete’ peace regarding any decisions you are making—not partial peace.

The Lord’s methods can even include miracles, in which He makes the impossible happen. He also uses divine appointments, in which He puts you in the right place at the right time with the right people. You must connect the experiences with His answers, or you will miss it!

This book is in two parts. The first is to help you understand some of the many ways God ‘speaks’ to you. God is talking with you all the time, but you are just not catching it. For this reason, I have given you some practical examples of various ways to hear from the Lord. The second part of this book is to help you understand yourself better. This insight will assist you in determining which decisions and choices you are to make, what job is best for you, and what your purpose is in this life.
