Introduction

When I was just a little girl, I used to write with just a yellow notebook and pen. I never once thought it would come to pass that I would actually write my own book. I started to write chapters here and there, but I would never complete the task. After all these years, here I am completing this introduction. God knew all along what day this book would be published and what pain I would have to go through to complete it. In this book, you will go through wheels of emotions, reading my testimony of God’s protection over my life. From the day I was stuck in my room dealing with depression to the times I started using alcohol and drugs to cope with my pain to even one horrific night that changed my life forever. This is my story of God’s amazing grace.

Chapter 1

Living with Wonder

As a child, I would look at the world with these wondrous eyes. I knew I was created for something big. I just knew it was not my time yet. I loved to sing, dance, and pretend I was a worship leader. I would jump for joy on the stage of an old chapel that I practically lived in. Mom and dad were very active in the church, and I clearly remember sleeping on those old rugged benches. I loved those days. The days where everything seemed to make sense, the days where I did not have a care in the world. All I longed for was to praise Jesus and be with my family. As I got a little older, I started to feel like God was calling me to write and worship. Feeling very different from others in my family, I would sit and talk to them about what I had been feeling numerous days, but all I would get is silence. My mother always, as well as my father, encouraged me to write, but others seemed not to understand what I was seeing for my life. Not only was I seeing it, but I knew God himself was giving me that vision.

One day, when I woke up, the Lord spoke to me and gave me demands to go outside to write. I only had a yellow notebook at the time, and I was not clear on what to write. As I went outside to sit, I remember looking up to the sky, and the Lord directed me to write about his love, and so that is what I did. I wrote a short poem, and at that exact moment, I knew God was my ultimate best friend, and I trusted every word that he told me. Not only did I trust him completely, but I knew he was my father.
