CHAPTER 1

ORIGINS OF EVIL AND THE CORRUPTION AND DESTRUCTION OF OUR BODIES AND MINDS

Let's be clear. Suffering has the most questions that need answers, not only for you and me, but for all humanity. Before the Lord answers your questions about Suffering and Death, I want to put some flesh and blood on the word 'suffering' so you will get the scope and depth of it and feel its overwhelming power on your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

• Cancer; heart failure; Alzheimer's disease; mental illness; mutations; chronic pain; chronic nausea; severe arthritis; spine injury; eating disorders; lung disease; stomach and bowel pain and disorders; chronic migraine headaches; innocent babies, infants, children, suffering and dying in the arms of their parents; somebody's daughter abducted, raped, dismembered, and thrown away like trash.

• Terrorism; beheading; torture; genocide; drug addiction; human trafficking; capturing young kids, girls, and women to rape, sell, enslave, and then butcher and kill; school shootings; wars; bombing; biochemical warfare; mutilation; suffocation; water boarding; abortion; partial birth abortion.

Sadly enough, it probably did not take long for you to read the above list and experience the Evil power that Fear has over us. I don't know about you, but I have a hard time digesting and wrapping my head around the whole thing. When it comes to the depth, darkness and despair that Evil attacks us with, it can be overwhelming and even terrifying. I created this list of questions to introduce the devastating destruction evil has brought upon humanity, you and me, and that is Suffering.

• Where did it come from? Why do we have to suffer?

• Why do little babies have to suffer and die? They are innocent and did nothing wrong.

• Why does God allow it?

• Why do we suffer and have to die?

• If God really loves us, why doesn't He do something about it?

• If Jesus came to save us from all this Sin, Suffering and Death, where is it, and where is He when we pray?

The bottom line is this. If there is no difference or change in Sin, Suffering and Death since Jesus came, why should anyone believe in him as a loving God? What is the use, really?

Many times, these lingering questions are the reasons for believers leaving the church, faith, and religion all together. Without answers, part of me does not blame them.

EVIL AND SUFFERING: FINALLY, THE ANSWERS: How did suffering and death enter the world, affecting all of us & all physical reality?

God does not cause Suffering and Death. EVIL does. How did Evil come into the world and all physical reality? Every major religion, society, and culture has discussed and debated the answer to this question. They have even written about it in their sacred texts. I find that the most detailed and credible texts regarding Evil's origin are from the Book of Enoch.

The book of Enoch, found in Qumran in 1948 near the Dead Sea, though not in the Canonical inspired books of the Bible, is one of the oldest of the Creation narratives. The Book of Genesis in the Judeo-Christian Bible borrows much from the Book of Enoch. For our purposes, here is an English overview and translation of the passage describing how Evil came into the world.

BOOK OF ENOCH (A brief overview)

In the Book of Enoch, the Watchers are angels dispatched to Earth to watch over the humans. They soon begin to lust for human women and at the prodding of their leader Samyaza (Leader of Fallen Angels), they defect to illicitly instruct humanity and procreate with them. The offspring of these unions are the Nephilim, savage giants who pillage the earth and endanger humanity.

Samyaza and his associates further taught their human charges arts and technologies such as weaponry, cosmetics, mirrors, sorcery, and other techniques that would otherwise be discovered gradually over time by humans, not foisted upon them all at once.

Eventually God allows a Great Flood to rid the earth of the Nephilim, but first sends the Archangel Uriel to warn Noah so as not to eradicate the human race. The Watchers are bound in the valleys of the Earth until Judgment Day when they will be
