The aircraft took off, my air crew came through to let me know I could take off my seat belt.

I’d gone into co-ownership of the gorgeous white leather interior G6 until I decided if it suited my business purposes. So far, impressed.

The man, new to my team, inspired trust, an air of ex-military about him. Neatly cropped hair, powerful hands. His wide stance implied he was ready to tackle anyone who didn’t comply with safety instructions.

I studied him as he approached. Tight abs, neat leather belt holding the crisp white shirt in place. Long sleeves not thick enough to disguise the hint of a tattoo on the upper arm or hide the taut muscular chest.

If my genius PA had picked him from a brochure advertising ‘male models who do some personal security on the side’, they couldn’t have done much better.

He leant over me. His scent flooded my senses. A mixture of spices, musk, and maybe a hint of coffee. I honestly thought he could be arrogant enough to make a move, but he just politely and efficiently tucked the loose seat belt back into its holder.

I glanced at my watch. 5am. No doubt he’d been at the airport when most of us were asleep.

‘Can I get you anything, ma’am?’

I refused. I needed to rest.

‘Wake me an hour before we land, please.’

He turned the lighting down low and sat down in the seat next to the cockpit door, powerful hands rested casually in his lap. I contemplated what lay beneath his hands. He caught me looking.

Did I imagine that half smile?

I woke to darkness. The gentle hum of the aircraft. I pressed the blind-open button to look out. Total darkness, just a tiny light flashing on the wing. When I looked up, it felt reassuring to see my crewman awake and watching over me. He definitely had that air of confident dutiful protector about him.

He nodded, stood, straightened his clothes, then walked to my side. Crouching at my side, he whispered closer to my cheek than necessary.

‘Turbulence, the pilot apologises. You have another hour before you wanted waking. Can I get you anything?’

I lay back in my huge sleeper seat. He was inches from me, and yes, I wanted something. I wanted him.

How should I play this?

I didn’t know him, but knew my PA would have ensured this guy was a total professional. Any move I made could go wrong, although by the look in his eyes and the slightly bigger bulge in his crotch area, this guy was interested.

No wedding ring, in fact no jewellery except a sleek gold watch, and the usual electronic security tag pin on his shirt.
