Michael Tavon

Michael Tavon (1991) was born St. Petersburg, Florida to Michael & Desiree Patterson. Although Tavon and two sisters grew up in low income-crime driven neighborhoods his parents instilled the importance of goals, education, and the 'will-to-do-good' in their children. As a child he developed a likeness for literature and television. His first book,"Garage Band The Legend of Dookie Harris", was self-published in 2014. Tavon is currently pursuing his Bachelors degree in Creative writing and will be attending the University of Central Florida in 2018.

My friend, Let’s heal and grow

    Together we can,

    Change the world

    Do you know

    The power your voice holds?

    Police stop pouring bullets

    Like raindrops,

    The violence must stop.

    We shouldn’t have

    to become an army

    To survive against cops.

    Erase our memory

    History is a lie

    Teach the truth,

    Reprogram our minds

    Together, We can change

    the systems ways

    Hopefully, one day,

This world will be a better place

    Begin | Shallou

After years of being buried six feet deep in grief, it's time to climb out of that hole and fall in love with the person you've bloomed into after the storm. Life will never be the same; accept the change. The tears you once shed helped you transform into what you see in the mirror today. Now, you are far greater than you were before. Grief didn't break you; it shaped you.

    Take Me Home | Poolside

    Anything you desire

    Your mind has

    the power to manifest,

    so instead of yearning

for objects that feed the ego

    and starve the soul

envision a heart that beats softer

like a feather drifting in the wind

after grief releases its grip on you,

    Close your eyes and envision,

    your dreams becoming a reality

    after self-doubt

stops living in your mind rent-free,

once you finally recognize your worth

    better yet, imagine a life

    where inner peace

    has become second nature,

because you’ve learned how to manage

your reaction to any force that tries

to knock you off your balance.

    you have the power

to create the life you deserve

    Bee | Burbank

Your heart must shatter into pieces

    Before discovering peace, again

    The thunderstorms

    in your mind must settle,

    Before feeling the calm winds

    The process of healing

is allowing your dark clouds to rain

    Without hurrying

    Your sunshine

No matter how long it takes

    You must feel to heal

    Mother nature doesn't

    rush her process

    Neither should you

    Everything that happens,

    Serves as a purpose

    For your growth

    Open | Rhye

    Vivid dreams of you

Next to the soft sound of rain
