Parts of this were excellent but parts stretched my suspension of disbelief. Captain Lucien Howard, Earl of Ross is severely wounded and Alejandra nurses him to health. They start to find attraction. There is a bit of self-harm in the story but it's not a major point and I think that's part of the problem, there was a lot in this plot and a lot of issues to deal with that were just barely bounced through, which could have made for a deeper story, it just felt like the author held back. Not a bad read but there was a better story lurking under it.
