About this ebook
Sitting quietly in a corner for an hour or two, the casual reader may find a few items of interest as has the author in similar situations over many years – often in the most unexpected places.
Covering a journey from youth to old age adds variety to the poetic stories to be found in this book perhaps best described and discovered by simply taking a little time to read it.

Sunset
Shining beyond the summit of this hill
The clearest view that I may ever see
Silence invites the evening to enjoy
The final moments of a setting sun.
Still time to glance back at the trodden path
The long and winding journey to this crest
Before the light surrenders to its fate
And darkness fulfils its eternal rule.
Morning began more fiercely than I knew
Sunrise a time when savagery ruled
Before the early hours of a new dawn
Delivered hope of brighter friendly skies.
The vibrant youth of life approached the day
Sure of itself in welcome morning light
The lessons of the hours still to learn
Among the clouds, the thunder and the rain.
Some storms came unexpected much too soon
To linger or diminish as inclined
Learned to be wary of the road ahead
The twists and turns as I kept stumbling on.
At times the heavens opened to release
Soft sunlight to illuminate the way
But caution often settled for the shade
Unmoved by chances reaching out to me.
Now day
