LISA MONTGOMERY
PENNY BJORKLAND
Lisa Montgomery would meet Bobbie Joe Stinnett in an on-line chatroom called Ratter Chatter
under the pretext that she wanted to purchase a rat terrier puppy from her.
But what she really wanted from the pregnant Bobbie Joe was her baby.
Lisa would arrive at the Stinnett home and strangle the young woman into unconscious before cutting out the baby from her stomach with a kitchen knife.
She would then show case the baby around her small town, introducing her as Abigail.
Investigative authorities would find out that Lisa would suffer from what psychiatrists called pseudocyemesis.
A psychological delusion where the subject believes she is pregnant.
The gruesome crime would shock the town of Skidmore, Missouri with its population of only 300 people. Once a community where they could keep their doors unlocked at night, the townsfolk would never be the same.
BOBBIE JOE STINNETT
Bobbie Joe had lived in the small town of Skidmore, Missouri all of her life. She was a shy but happy cheerleader in high school and graduated with honors of May of 2000.
She was intelligent and fun-loving,
Bobbie Jo's mother Becky Harper said. She never knew a stranger.
Three years after graduating, Bobbi Joe would marry her childhood sweetheart in Zeb Stinnett. The couple would tie the knot on April 26th, 2003.
She was real quiet,
Zeb said. She pretty well kept to herself. I was the same way. I guess that’s why we clicked so well.
Bobbie Joe would work at the Earl May Garden Center which served as both a pet store and plant nursery. Zeb worked in production at Kawasaki manufacturing. Later, Bobbie Joe would join Zeb at the plant and together they were saving money to buy their first home.
To make money on the side, Bobbie Joe was also a champion breeder of rat terriers. She ran the side business with her husband and they deemed the business "Happy Haven Farms.
Our puppies are placed in only the very best homes with the family that fits them best,
the website read. Let us help you find your next pet, rat terrier or otherwise.
Bobbie Joe would also engage in on-line forums that discussed rat terriers.
