Introduction
The best way to enter into a healthy lifestyle is through a nutritious diet. By eating the right foods, you are giving your immune system a nice boost. The nutrients in the healthy foods go to work to strengthen the immune system, which then goes to work to help us overcome illnesses, and it also very much helps in the prevention of certain health conditions. Healthy whole foods are packed with high amounts of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. Foods that contain anti-oxidants such as many vegetables and fruits are especially helpful in strengthening the immune system.
What if you are addicted to the wrong types of food? Junk food is void of any nutritional value or if it has any nutritional value at all, it is very little. Junk food is food that generally contains ingredients like sugar, trans fats, processed flours, and other foods that are worthless. Sugar is highly addictive and if you have a sugar addiction, you definitely have a junk food addiction. If you have to eat this type of food at least once a day or you get jittery, or a headache, or moody, then you have an addiction. Food addiction is as real and as bad an addiction as smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol. If you truly want a healthy nutritious lifestyle, you must break the junk food habit.
To break the junk food habit you need to treat this as if you are breaking any bad habit. It takes about three weeks for the body to let go of a bad habit. While you are working on breaking this bad habit, you can begin your diet. Try the recipes from the eating clean diet. Replace the junk food with recipes from this book. Once you are weaned from the junk food you can go on the intermittent fasting diet and use it along with the eating clean diet successfully.
Start with eating junk food just twice a day for a week. Replace all other junk food times with healthy alternatives until you are fully weaned. The second week you can eat junk food just once a day. The third week, eat junk food once every other day. By the end of the third week, you should be weaned and should not have to suffer from the side effects like headaches and intense cravings. If you still feel you have an issue, rather than stopping the diet, try going two days between eating junk food for a week. And keep adding days until you are only eating it once a week.
By the time you are weaned from the junk food, you can go on the diets without risk of falling back into old eating habits because of the unpleasant withdrawals. This is the best way to start a new diet and a healthier lifestyle. Food is natures best way to help practice prevention and even treatment with many health conditions.
Any good nutrition plan should include drinking a lot of water. Water helps to cleanse the body of the toxins the junk food left behind. Water works with the healthy nutritious foods included in the eating clean and the intermittent fasting diet plans. A body needs a certain amount of water each day to function properly. You can derive some water from beverages other than water such as tea, coffee, and juice. You will receive some water from fruits and vegetables too. But you need to make sure you drink actual water each day. Calculate the amount of water by taking your weight in pounds and dividing that by two. That number will give you the amount in ounces you need. If you weigh 200 pounds, divided by two is 100 and so a 200-pound person will need to drink about 100 ounces of water a day to be at optimum health.
In addition to weaning from junk food and drinking plenty of water if you add exercise on top of it you will feel physically fit. It is a perfect addition to a healthy lifestyle. People who are in optimum health get plenty of exercise each week. Being physically active helps the body to feel better through the release of endorphins, a substance the brain releases when the body reaches a certain point during physical activity.
Physical activity need not be something that costs a lot of money or takes too much of your precious time. You can just do something every other day for a minimum of a half an hour at a time to make it work. You can walk or play sports or do anything that breaks a sweat. You can dance, run, swim, ride a bike, join a gym, or even something like cutting wood or working in a garden (if you are hoeing or digging). The point is if you so something that breaks a sweat you giving your body some well-deserved exercise.
Exercise will help to lose weight and boost your metabolism. This will give you more energy so you will feel like being physically active more. Exercise, drinking water, and the eating clean and intermittent fasting diets all work together to being a well-rounded healthy lifestyle.

Section 1: Eating Clean Diet
What is the eating clean diet?
The eating clean diet also called, clean eating diet or the eat clean diet, is a very simple and basic diet. It is the absence of anything chemical including processed flours and sugars, chemicals and preservatives, artificial dyes and flavors. It is food in its most natural state, the way it comes off the vine or plant or tree. It is food that you pick up at the produce section or from the freezer. You can find this food in the canned goods as well. Clean food diet is exactly what it sounds like.
