    My 80s Days

When Jimmy was a kid in the early 80s, he used to take the piss out of glue sniffers. Hey you, you bastard! They used to chase him and his mate. Running in zig zags, never catching us.

Back further, the old stone house opposite Locking Gate Rise at Waterhead. We smashed the stones out of the walls. On the day it collapsed, I wasn't there. Wasn't me! I was watching Grizzly Adams. We heard the roar as it fell. My mum saw the dust cloud go past our window.

Soon after, new houses were built. I used chalk to write on the wall: Glen is gay! This lad wanted to beat me up but never caught me. He threw a big white pebble at me. It missed.

Years later, I remember the alternative girls. One had a house with Siouxsie posters on the walls. She looked the same. Stunning. Another gal ran barefoot. With blond hair, she played New Model Army over the CB. What did she do with the rest of her life?

    The 80s. I remember.

    Clay Men

The clay man died. He's a member of the dead. He's in the van on the passenger seat, made of concrete. Morphs onto the driver's face. Hey, you're dead! What? He's talking normal. Put him in the concrete mixer. Mix him up. Moving like liquid mercury man. Barry from Brookside, crap actor. Now dead, clay man. Van driver to wear? False clothes.

    Eating Shrimps

    I eat choc sponge cake.

    They watch me eat it.

    See the TV advert.

    I see the map.

    I'm in the Taiwan.

    Mystery Unsolved

She disappeared aged 3. Everyone looked for her. People went from shop to shop asking have you seen this girl? No was the reply. Others searched woodland, fields, by the river. Soon people all over the country joined the hunt for the missing child. No luck. It was like she never existed. Her parents never gave up hope nor stopped looking. 3 dates are the worst: the anniversary of her disappearance, her birthday and Xmas. 14 years later she's still missing. No one has spotted her. She'd be 17 now. Almost an adult. But she's a statistic. A 3 year old girl missing 14 years. Her picture on milk cartons. Mystery unsolved.

    Varied Statistics

Casualties in a war that isn't ours.

    What happens under Nebraska skies?

    Is that where you are?

The bitter old woman with only death to look forward to.

    Crystalline Topaz.

    Oh how pretty.

    You wear the Russia Cap.

    Dry Dry Dry

There's a beer river up at San Miguel. We went up there to the brown river. A little wooden boat carried our souls. Not to safety. We all fell into the beer river! I was floundering so bad. The three others couldn't save me; nor me them. Beer engulfed us. It was each to their own. Save
