PREFACE
This book is credited to all those before us that sacrificed their lives, effort and time. It belongs to all and their families for the giving of these ultimate sacrifices that helped bring transitions to a society in which, they themselves were not accepted. This book also belongs to those who are still alive that have given so much to their communities and country throughout the world. This massive illustration of the resolution of the human spirit, in times of conflict, dramatically influenced the political arena over the entire world.
We want to thank all of those who had the ability to see the same vision, though they came from a different time, different areas and geographical locations and yet, their approach brought about solutions that produced a structure by which all wishing to live life, built on the foundation of freedom, could be recognized.
I thank those who helped established this vision so that I myself may be a witness and through this witness, I am able to share with my family and friends. Their help contributed over time and because of this, I have come to this point in my life that it has taken me to come to this point. All of their contributions are part of the foundation that has been planted by those courage’s individuals who have made the experience of freedom of such value. Your sacrifice is well computed into my mind.

We begin by looking at events and times primarily of blacks in the political arena. This is not to say that whites and other races did not play a part in this chronology which recognized some of the greatest minds in history. It certainly does not cover all of the events that took place through time which played a significant part in this book. Our intentions are to raise the awareness of the contributions of people that came before us, people contributing in times with us and those after us. Those that intended to break the barrier of consciousness that entrapped our minds and held us hostage to a truth when spoken to our kids and others that really was not, the truth.
The truth by definition is something that is factual, a thing that corresponds to fact or reality. It is something that is so clear that it hardly needs to be stated, being an obvious fact. Mathematics is a true science that lends itself through hypothesis to the truth in solutions of problems. It also provides symbols that denote when things are not true. Politics is also a science. It derives from political science and has been studied for years in our country and around the world. America and other countries have had a guide to follow laws that are constantly on our backs.
By deriving from that guide and yet, it was not until 2008, that American citizens decided to depart from its traditional non-compliance with its guide (the constitution) and embrace change.
The timing could not have been better for America which is to take a chance on a segment of its creed that spoke to equality for all.
The black people of this country have had to excel beyond belief to prove to themselves in every area of life. We cannot began to chronicle all the accomplishments of blacks that were made in the face of oppression and hatred by those which refused to honor America’s guide, CALLED the constitution.
Sure some were allowed to experience inclusion into a true democratic society but only after continued perseverance.
Inventions were made by blacks throughout time. These inventions gave rise and strength to America. The inventions were never a privilege and the true credit and privilege of these inventions were never realized upon the backs of those black people that brought them about. There were others that excelled and were recognized by their inventions. When we look at the preparation and infrastructure in the development of this great country, it was on our backs
as a people that validated it. It was on the backs of blacks that help make America what it is today, with credibility and power around the world. I am reminded of this e-mail that I received during the writing of this book. Let me share it with you.
Inaugural Ceremony Ball of 2009
Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 02:58:06 PM PDT, guests began to arrive early. There are no place cards or name tags. Everyone knows everyone that is here. Now, there is a grand foursome. Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz sharing laughs with Martin and Coretta Scott King. It looks like Hosea Williams refused the limo again, keeping it real. And my goodness, is that Rosa Parks out there on the dance floor with A. Phillip Randolph? Seated at a nearby table, Frederick Douglass has a captive audience in W.E.B. Dubois and Fannie Lou Hamer, and Medgar Evers who just joined them.
Marian Anderson was asked to sing tonight but she only agreed to do it if accompanied by Marvin Gaye, John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix. Look, there’s Harriet Tubman. No one knows how she arrived, but there she is. And my guess is that, when the time comes, no one will see her leave. There is Jackie Robinson swiftly making his way through the hall as the crowd parts like the Red Sea to the unmistakable sound of applause. Run, Jackie, run!
Along the way, he is embraced by Jesse Owens. Three beautiful young women arrive with their escorts; Schwerner, Goodman and Chaney. Ms. Viola Liuzzo flew in from Michigan, exclaiming, I could not miss this.
Richard Pryor promised to be on his best behavior. But I cannot make any guarantees for Redd Foxx and Moms Mabley,
he chuckled. Joe Louis just faked a quick jab to the chin of Jack Johnson, who smiled broadly while slipping it. We saw Billy Eckstein and Nat King Cole greet
