About this ebook
alone , and am a 28 yr survivor of HIV, derived from a
blood transfusion while active duty military via oral surgery done
in 1983. I now devote my retirement to my preoccupations of
fishing and puttering around my modest home,,along with writting
songs and poems which i have done for 35 plus years, as a singular
vocation.
I feel that in all of us as spirited beings ,we each do hold potential
for compassion some more than others perhaps but still inherant to
us all,,,I write poetry to convey those instincts to those that are less
aware but require reminders that they too are beings of empathy
I trust that my works will offer some a peace of mind and awareness
so needed in this fast paced all too short existance we all share and
to some degree will offer solice in reading words that instill hope
for a better tomorrow, gleened from living, this is my short legacy i
wish to leave.

The Heart belongs and beats
for all
that have a voice in which to call
and echo down a hallowed hall
in absence to the heart we fall
the soul is captured by all that are born
as though is fragile a web that is torn
through life we love and yet may we scorn
A soul gone unseen and left so forlourne
Our being is our most treasured host
for in there we place with love and with most
surpassed by one and dare we will boast
for all that it holds in silence a ghost
This human spirit nurtured with drive
and keeping the flame and light so alive
for years of its length of labor to strive
an ocean so deep no man will yet dive
For in all of these things reside with one cost
just this one thing was found and not lost
this human heart with soul and of being
Mans Spirit God had created now seeing
Heart and Soul and Being,,,,,,P.douglas sisk . . . . 12Jul2001
When looked into a mothers eyes
and wonder wisdom there
cannot account for tears she cries
or heartache strife in life she bare
taking care to always give
to those she held and bore in pain
did this mothers wonder live
as long as there is rain
The breath she takes to bend the tide
and keep a love non yielding
injustice she did take in stride
and yet with love was shielding
A mothers eyes can hold a grace
of such no one can know
with tear stain on her face
a Love for all does flow
This i saw in mothers eyes
a glance that i once viewed
a shaking head and heavy sighs
Passing on yet born again
in heaven she’s renewed

In dedication to my mother - Joetta Irene Sewell,
departed 17th of January 2011. Always held in memory.
Sittin all alone in my easy chair
given thought to issues and i dont care
never gona ever want to go back there
them salad days of past years i had and seen
runnin through a painted meadow filled with green
take a number wait in line and steal some time
find anothers love sublime
beyond the mountains high that few can climb
to stand alone amidst a crowd
or ride air currents and grasp a cloud
to soar up high and embrace the sky
the shinning stars and twinlked eye
We faulter still and lesser learn
where flame reside and always burn
to yeild to feelings once were shared
and finding who with who be paired
seek solution and strive to hold
no absolution leaves one cold
for in my chair of ease and peace
is this where life will end and cease
to calmly step apart from life
having known a measured strife
what will we learn in given time
for in these words do hold in ryhme
One Love to share and always care
while sitting in my easy chair
A Chair i share

A gift to share and be ones own
to have yet keep and be it known
If not for self tho on one shelf
for true you are as oceans blue
tho still not known or seen by few
while given time and sought by ryhme
ones deeper depth and held
