Rodney Dixon
Growing up in Paterson and Orange, New Jersey, Rodney had a knack for poetry at an early age, often free-styling for fun with friends, at family gatherings and local high school talent shows, Graduating from Orange High School, Rodney went on to attend Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Then he joined the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Wertheim, Germany. His fellow soldiers also took notice of Rodney’s poetic flare. After his tour of duty was over, Rodney moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where his mother relocated. In Atlanta, he and his cousin formed a rap group. A demo was cut and they performed at several local venues around town. Rodney reinvented himself as a poet and spoken word artist.

LOVE IS A MIRACLE
Love is a strong affection for another arising out of kinship and personal ties
Love is always the truth—Love don’t tell lies
Love is communication—to co-exist we must convey knowledge and make known information
Love is commitment—I pledge my love in front of the world with no
Resentment
Love is understanding, comprehensible, yet still demanding
Love is appreciation—an expression of admiration
Love is being humble—humility is key
Love is strength—and being strong enough to say, I’m sorry
Love is quiet—but it’s always heard
What you do speaks volumes—action speaks louder than words
Love is joy and love is pain
Everybody loves the sunshine but can you stand the rain
Love is gettin’ knocked down but standing back up
Love’s a fighter, love’s a survivor, love’s
