life is not so easy

with a heartache and a dream

you must know the pain I’m feeling

but you don’t hear the scream

a dream of us together

each with wedding bands

feeling all life’s pleasures

with the gentle touch of hands

somewhere lurking in the shadows

was a form I couldn’t see

in the silence of the darkness

he took you away from me

I still have a heartache

and the dream cannot be real

I know time will heal the sorrow

and I’ll find a better deal

A Mother’s Love

a mother loves her baby

a neighbor loves a friend

we all love the puppy

for love there is no end

I love my little brother

and all my family

I also love my neighbors

and many friends I see

I have a love for Jesus

I love to play and sing

there is love for everyone

and we all love everything

but for me one love is special

God gave you to me

and I promise I will love you

as long as time will be

A Note

a note inside a locket

written years ago

how powerful a message

meant for me to know

the treasure in the locket

hangs on a golden chain

every time I wear it

I’m reminded once again

we have lived a life together

we have lost and we have won

and the message in the locket

endured through grief and fun

a message in a locket

just as simple as can be

but a message with the power

to last eternity

when I wear the locket

I know the message to be true

you’ve made my life so happy

a note said I love you

A New Day

confronting dawn on a new day

to meet what challenge comes my way

to walk a road straight and true

I’ll walk it best if I’m with you

as darkness overcomes the light

and daytime then turns into night

the silence of the moon so bright

encompass calm, enhance delight

Accomplishment

an accomplishment is something done

something done by only one

congratulations now to you

your efforts make your future true

Age

age has been my sculptor

its makes me what I am today

brown hair that I used to have

age has turned to gray

it’s put some wrinkles on my face

and gave me a double chin

it’s put fat around my belly

on my face it put a grin

age too will be your sculptor

it will change you, you will see

it will put some fat around your belly

where your waistline used to be

it will take away the hair you had

or just maybe turn it gray

age will be your sculptor

you can’t avoid the day

Alone

alone in the wilderness

a feeling comes to me

I do not feel lonely

your image I can see

I hear the rustle of the leaves

as the wind blows in the trees

I hear a message whispered

your voice is in the breeze

I can feel your presence

though I know you are not here

you radiate a love beam

and it’s felt everywhere

Ambition

my ambition and desire

success and a wife

to be seen a man of stature

to live a wealthy life

I have found a package

especially for me

the package thus a lady

will determine destiny

I have attained some success

my life isn’t bad

then there are children

and they call me dad

the wealth not gold

worth more to me

the life I have

is ecstasy

to be a man of stature

with such special wealth

to have a loving caring wife

and a God who gave me health

to understand a message sent

I sought to learn just what it meant

a neighbor said he didn’t know

a friend of mine said let it go

it seemed to me I had to find

some people of a stronger mind

I asked a preacher what to do
