    INTRODUCTION

    D O YOU HAVE any damaged goods? Damaged goods include, but are not limited to, clothing, automobiles, furniture, appliances, and many other items. What are you doing about getting control of these goods? Do you allow them to hang around your home—lingering in your closets, garage or somewhere in the corner of your home? Don’t they make your surroundings look cluttered, unkempt, and junky? How did they get damaged? Let’s define damage, goods, and control.

    Damage denotes that something is hurt or injured—a mutation of sorts, a contusion, or bruise. Damage comes from the Latin words damnum, which means a loss (damnõsus), and laedêre, which means to strike with the intent of causing harm.

    Goods imply abundance, movable personal property, or merchandise. The Latin words for goods are bonus and bonorum, which mean the highest in abundance.

    Control reflects a regulation or having authority over something. The Latin word for control is moderari, which means "to govern, to direct, and set
