Some of the information for the Robinson’s and Davis’ comes from the notes of Mary Jane Robinson and J. Ben Robinson through Elizabeth Ann Turner’s genealogical report of June, 1981. Subsequent material came from questions asked and hours of research.

Edmund Robinson was born in 1495 in the Glasgow Area of Scotland and died February 2, 1571/1573 In York, England. According to information collected from a Mrs. Wilkinson, the present (1994) owner of the vicarage in Cleasby, Edmund Robinson was the father of John Robinson, born 1520, of Crostwick who lived in the Parish of Rumbald Kirk, Yorkshire, England. They had a son John.
John Robinson born c: 1520 in Crostwick, Corn, England died c;1600 Crostwick, Rumbaldkirk Parish, England. He married Ann Emmot Savage (daughter of Francis and Anne (Sheddon)Savage. She was born c: 1525. They had a son John. There is no indication of other children that I could find.
Reverend John Robinson was born c:1550/1557 in Crostwick, Rumbald Kirk Parish, England and died abt. 1582. He married Ann Dent born c:1554/1561 of Yorkshire, England her death date could not be determined. They had two known children Richard, b: abt. 1583, d: abt. 1633., and George.
George Robinson was born about 1582 in Cleasby Parish, North Riding, Yorkshire, England and died abt. January 15, 1633. He married Frances Layton in 1610. Frances was born abt.1589 in Yorkshire, England, the daughter of Thomas Layton, and died April, 1648. They had seven known Children; William, Richard, Clara, Margaret, Elizabeth, Thomas, Richard and John.
The first Richard, born (date unk.) in Cleasby Parish immigrated to Lancaster County, Virginia. There is some indication
