About this ebook

The beginning of this story started in 2003 when I stepped out of a poultry farm from heat exhaustion over a period of about fifteen years. I have always loved Arkansas, so I decided to move there for a period of time. I met a lovely young lady from Pittsburg, Texas near my farm. We moved to Arkansas and we were married at a church in Mena. I had a passion for woodcraft. I found some logs that a man was for cutting fire wood. I bought three logs and carried them back to the shop. I cut two inch pieces across the logs which were about eighteen inches in diameter. After a few cuts and sanding and varnishing I saw this image of a very distinct face. That is what this story is all about. I am still amazed at what had taken place and the trials and tests that the Lord has brought me through.

Robert Taylor

Robert V. Taylor is a nationally recognized leader, author, and sought after speaker who invests his life in helping individuals and organizations to realize their full human potential and impact in the world. Born and raised in South Africa, Robert saw firsthand the difference that could be made when oppressed people are given the freedom to discover their voices, trust their imaginations, and find the courage to be who they are. Robert continues to explore integrating personal spirituality and values-driven strategies with the question of how we each leave a footprint of compassion in the world--both at home and in the corporate marketplace. He lives in Seattle, Washington.

    Chapter 1

I n early 2003, after fifteen years of heat exhaustion, my body had all it could stand. I called the field technician about selling. He said all I needed to do was level the houses with clay.

I put clay in as he specified. A short time later, I had a buyer, who found a bank to finance his purchase of my farm. The banker visited the farm production manager, who would not furnish the buyer with birds, so that blocked the sale of my place.

I was the best grower in 2001 and third best in 2003. So there was no problem in performance. The only reason I could think
