About this ebook
Zoha Khokhar
I picked up a love for reading and writing at a very young age, and haven't stopped doing either since then. I've had a brief career as a teacher, writing poems and stories to teach as well as my own works on the side.

Just a Thought - Zoha Khokhar
Certain
There is a certain type of man
Who lives by paper, if he can.
But writes not theories or letters of state
Or laws for the country both little and great.
Though while those are worthy, a wonderful lot
For certain men they are certainly not.
For certain, for them, it is colour and word
It is paintings and stories and songs to be heard.
For certain, these men, they will sit and will stare
At shapes in the clouds and the smoke in the air
And listen to butterflies much of the time
Or the sound of the winter presenting its rime.
While ever about him the world is in haste
He is silent and still like a china-doll placed
And from up on his shelf, in his little glass box
He will listen and learn about life’s many knocks
Though he may never feel them, for it is quite plain
That the box which he lives in, in wind or in rain
Is comfort and shelter, a bright little world
And all of his future around it is curled
For this box is intention, ambition and hope
No mortal material could compass its scope
Nor hold it as fast as a hoping mind can
The mind of these certain eccentrics of Man.
Potion
Pen to paper, hand to pen
Twisting my words around again
Mind and body, heart and soul
Pouring like ink in a water-bowl
Spreading fast ’cross water-skin
Dipping and spinning further in
Coloured tendrils creeping ’round
Twisting with a whispered sound
Water clear now swirling black
While coloured hues flit here and back
And now the real creation starts
From breaking minds and twisting hearts
For through the
