Frank Craven
Frank Craven was a popular Broadway playwright/actor of the 20’s & 30’s. His grandson, by the same name, continues the heritage with political comedies that have generated funds and conscience for GreenPeace (4 Chats & 1 Loup, National Vanity vs. Natural Sanity), Amnesty International (Authority Versus Majority) and other moral comedies in verse, IE: Right versus Righteous &/or The Clothes “Make” The Man (I & II). See cmm.itgo or www.frankcraven.com. In 1968, his parents had it with the USA (JFK, RFK, MLK, Vietnam...) and moved to (Fascist) Spain where his dad (John) taught drama at the American Institute and Franky became acutely aware of life in a dictatorship, not only from Generalisimo Franco but the various Latin American refugees who fled from torture and turmoil. Frank’s patriotism inspires him to write epic poems (in verse) that denounce corruption & injustice. Influenced by Ruben Dario, Ramon Campoamor & Goethe. He’s a professional actor that also sketches cartoons, paints in oils and plays a mean harmonica and a dandy flamenco/blues guitar. View a few of Mr. Cravens plays at the NYC Theater on Tape Archive at Lincoln Center Library. An AFTRA SAG AEA member; professional actor since 1979. He has a book out (via www.amazon.com) called: 2 COMEDIES ON “GOD” (TWO SCRIPTS HE PRODUCED TWICE) and has produced an (award winnig) weekly public access TV show in Manhattan since 1998 Webstreamed; www.mnn.org, called: WHAT’S AILING/HEALING US AMERICA? WA/HA? A crybaby’s patriotic wail to ask/answer as a right/duty. Franky is also a psychic/medium (Attending séances, reading parapsychology books) studied at Lillydale, NY & Arthur Findley College –platform reading- in UK. He is an interfaith licensed reverend minister, in the order of Melchizadek, Studied years with Gloria Grayson, Assisted musically Ron Fredericks and is a 7 rays master/archivist, PachaMama Alliance producer, ECO SOC UN NGO delegate for CAPAJ, indigenous people of the Andes, honorary conch caller/firetender www.paeceanddignityjourneys.org He works privately and is (VP.& board member) of the www.sacredlightfellowship.org

4.JPGSimple Life Rafts,
fumbeling along
a tumultuos sea
of electro-magnetic shock waves,
from flirtations to after-glow.
An invitation to peek out from the blinders,
as you ring-a-round the rosey in the roller coaster of romance.
UNDER A BRIDGE IN PARIS…
Under a bridge in Paris…
I see a full moon dancing
A sparkling path to me on the River Seine…
A lone sax plays serenades to the echoes.
Sweet sad soft notes hold on to suspense…
And sometimes a dozen dirty ones dip down and
Up ferociously…
Poking and enchanting holes in the silence
Of a warm summer night…
Smell the blossom of a row of trees
That look black against the starry sky.
I get a scent of roses and tobacco smoke
As two lovers pass by…
Giggling words in French.
What is it they’re saying?
I turn to the person next to me
And ask if they caught the joke.
But no words have meaning…
Ours is the international language
Two tongues anywhere in the world
Understand…
SANS MOTS
Sans mots.
Tes yeux me rempissent avec
des sermons, discours et chansons
quì me fout sentir
nervoux, conscient et heureux…
Sans mots,
Tes leures me confirment doucement
que le monde est bien
et je ne peux rien faire
mais les toucher
avec les miennes…
WITHOUT WORDS
Without words.
Your eyes fill me with
sermons, speeches & songs
that make me
nervous, aware and happy…
Without words,
your lips gently confirm
that the world is okay
and I can’t help but touch them
with mine…
ON THE EVE OF ROMANCE
I held you in my arms
and felt myself surround you
imprisoned by your charms
my hands became electric glue.
Your beauty wit and grace
made my heart beat so loud.
I only hope my face
won’t be a passing cloud.
I need to love and give
and feel extra special too.
To have joy as I live
so that things are very cool.
Maybe I could become he,
who knows what it is you like
and you could become my she,
who gets to have the first bite.
YOU SING TO ME SO SWEETLY
5.JPGYou sing to me so sweetly
Your warm eyes…
On the verge of tears,
Touch me.
They make the corners of my lips curl up.
I breathe softer to hear your perfect notes.
Your delicate yet powerful voice
Carrying my mind into a discovery of poetry.
ALONE, TOGETHER
Our chemicles are electrifying us
as we lock our different magnets.
Womanhood,
melting in all of her softness.
Manhood,
growing in all of his hardness.
SOLOS,
JUNTOS
Nuestra quimica
nos electrifica
con la cerradura
de nuestros imanes diferentes.
Mujer,
Derritiendo en toda su suavidad.
Hombre,
Creciendo en toda su dureza.
YANG CALLS UPON YING
The girl with the dead flowers,
Bunches of them—dry faded bouquets.
Hung, upside down, on her walls…
No vase on hand,
but the waterfall Buddha shrine is pleased
to the roots, from a fresh bundle, of promised love…
WHISPERS TO SAPPHO
Touch me tender, ever so lightly,
where no one else is allowed…
My love, enter my sanctum nightly,
Let’s get away from the crowd…
Only a woman, knows a woman’s curve
only a woman, can touch the right nerve.
Break the rules, of a mans world
they are just selfish brutes
make those fools who chase a girl,
find Virgin Mary’s roots.
Only a woman, knows a woman’s curve
only a woman, can touch the right nerve.
Females give pleasure from head to toe:
(It is not Mr. Rock’s hot shot,
that quivers constantly in the soul)
by sharing and caring a lot!
Only a woman, knows a woman’s curve
Only a woman, can touch the right nerve.
LADY
You’re a strong woman.
No one can penetrate your defenses.
But I somehow got lucky,
so suddenly
You’re trembling
in my arms
and my whole body becomes a marble statue.
Your legs can no longer support your weight as you cling to me.
I’ve become a Greek God…
A Master Man
that rises above the rest
a King in your private world…
It’s a delicious kingdom
that requires all my wisdom and kindness
to rule supreme…
Not a tough task
with your hand
holding my heart…
THE RIGHT MOMENT
The golden glow
of a girl’s giggle
from my witty wisdom.
I wonder when,
should my courage conquer
her shy softness
so that we will
enjoy our mouths moving
in sweet silence…
EL MOMENTO CORRECTO
La brillantina dorada
de la la risa femenina
por mi humor sabio.
Me pregunto cuando,
la conquista de mi valentia
sobre su timidez suave
para que
disfrutemos
nuestros bocas moviendo
en un silencio dulce…
HAPPY SADNESS
Where can my heart plunge into imagination,
if not fulfilled by a sweet fantasy?
Where can it find it’s romantic consolation,
if it does not have a secret fancy?
The
