H. Michael Frye was born in 1953 to a country preacher and his 4H loving wife. Moving was as much a part of family life as the faith to brave the move. Traveling from one small town to another had its blessings as well as its curses. After graduation from Clayton High School east of Raleigh North Carolina plans to attend East Carolina University Journalism School fell through. After attending the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and fifteen years of employment on his father-in-laws dairy farm he spend twenty-five years selling and building custom log homes-libertylogandtimberhomes.com.

A RAINY DAY AND SCHOOL
O n a rainy day at school I become a fool.
Who can think when their mind is in a downpour?
You can only sit and stare at the floor,
Look out the windows, or the door.
Cold, windy rain makes a body feel weary.
A school day when it rains is so dreary.
The words and numbers on the blackboards all wash away.
And the teachers voices muffled by the rumble
Are so low you can’t hear what they say.
Your mind has gone a thousand mile astray.
What a lonely day!
What more can I say about this rainy day?
Couldn’t we lie in the hay, listen to the rain on the tin, and cancel school?
Forget grammar, math, books, and just this once skip class—break a rule?
This is the dream of a rainy day fool.
I am in school! The rain will not
