She reaches many individuals through her motivational talks.

My book is dedicated to my readers, especially to those who will be emotionally uplifted by reading this book. I am certain that both my parents are very proud of me; they would not have expected anything less than my best.

To my siblings, I know this book will re-open wounds that have not yet healed or wounds that might never heal. Revisiting these wounds will be a painful experience for all of us. I hope that by reading this book it might bring you some closure. It may not bring the answers you have been searching for, but my wish is that you will accept all that has happened and allow your hearts to release the pain.

It is also imperative that you know that writing this book was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I gave up on writing this book more than once as I am well aware of the pain the characters in my book have endured, especially those who are relatively close to me. I appreciate your understanding. Your support means the world to me.

By sharing my heart and soul, I would like to provide readers with the opportunity to compare their life stories with mine.

To the most important person in my life: my son. You may not comprehend all that is happening right now, but I do know that one day you will have the opportunity to read my book. To my friends and acquaintances, this book will come to you as a surprise. Enjoy my story and do not hold back criticism – it is through failure that we succeed. We all share different opinions when suffering trials and tribulations and we grow by the input we are able to provide.

Some might feel that writing this book was not wise, however; please bear in mind that we are all branches of the same tree and in sharing our stories we might bring comfort and healing to people we never thought could relate to any of our experiences. We are all entitled to our own opinion;

For those of us who have been through the same experience, reading this book will be reasonably thorny, as it uncovers wounds yet to be healed and brings back sad memories. As I read through the pages, I find myself holding back tears between paragraphs and pausing to catch my breath.

Nonetheless, I have also managed to have a few laughs here and there because even in sorrow we must find a way to share a smile. If we can find humor in painful situations, we can turn events around. And somehow laughter can also transform unbearable tears into something bearable, even into something hopeful.

I believe that writing this book could not have been an easy journey for my sister. I hope that people – wounded souls and broken hearts – will find hope, comfort and strength to realize the power of forgiveness as they read this book.

They say life is an adventure and only the strong survive. With that in mind, I would like to thank my sister for her courage and determination to tell a story that will inspire generations to come.

I hope in writing this book she will continue to receive grace and strength to heal. May she find peace in the midst of her troubles.

I pray that God will continue to take her from strength to strength and May all that she hopes for, come to pass.

You can read this book over and over again and every time you find a different meaning and/or perspective of life. It is not every day that a woman has the opportunity to tell her story bravely with the intention of empowering and giving hope to adults and young women going through a similar situation or even worse. To positively influence young women to see the brighter side of life.
