Fallon Hodge

My name is Fallon. I’m from Greenville, South Carolina. I have a total of four siblings, three sisters and a deceased brother on my father’s side. I have two daughters, Brooklynn and Shadaria. My life was not easy, but I managed to overcome the obstacles. When I was twenty-eight weeks pregnant with my first baby, I discovered I had preeclampsia, which led me into a coma for a few days. I woke up not knowing what occurred, but at least my baby was healthy and alive. I also lost my mother in 2008, and my father passed in 2013. Many people never really believed me. They looked at me as if I was beneath them. It took a special friend to really understand me. He helped mold myself into a better person. He keeps me lifted up toward Christ. I came from a family that was not very supportive and wanted me to follow them. Nobody ever believed in me. I was even told by my ninth-grade teacher I would never be able to go to college, and I was even told by many people, whom I thought supposedly loved me, I would not amount to anything. That stuck with me for a long time, until 2015. I decided to give my whole life over to Christ, and I repented and asked forgiveness for my past. As I began this new journey, God started revealing and putting me through tests to see if I’m strong enough to overcome them. I became more humble, slow to anger, a listener, more patient, happier, and confident with myself. I lost a few friends and gained better ones. I’m more understanding to certain situations and people, even children. Someone told me, “Fallon, you are glowing. I can see Christ within you.” I felt good because all I ever wanted was for people to understand and for me to inspire someone.
