    Preface

This book may prove valuable to anyone who is interested in joining the Indiana State Police but who is currently over the department’s maximum age limit for initial hire or rehire. This book contains information that may prove valuable to anyone who may decide to challenge the department’s maximum age-hiring policy in court. The Indiana State Police’s maximum age limit policy violates both state and federal laws. However, they are currently able to enforce their age limit policy because they have historically controlled incriminating information, which they do not want to advertise. A recent U.S. 7th Circuit Court ruling has shifted the burden of proof from the complainant to the Indiana State Police, requiring them to produce incriminating information, if challenged in court. This book provides information that may be used to overcome the barriers put in place by the Indiana State Police.
