About this ebook
Jack Kennamer
I am a seventy-seven-year old man living in the state of Alabama. I’ve been married to the same wonderful woman, whose name is Sandy, for the last fifty years. We have four loving daughters, three granddaughters, and three great grandchildren (another on the way). My career was spent mostly managing hospital radiology departments. I attend an independent Bible church and I love Jesus. I was inspired to write this book after God revealed to me the “things” referred to by the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:8 to think on. My hope is the book glorifies Him!

Introduction
One morning in 2015, while reading the Bible, the instructions in Philippians 4:8 to think on certain things
again jumped out at me—things described as true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy. I had attempted to follow these instructions in the past, but I always failed miserably because, frankly, I did not know what specific things the apostle Paul was describing. Even resorting to Bible commentaries was not helpful because the explanations varied and were vague. However, this time, determined to follow the instructions, I asked God in the name of Jesus to help me identify the things described in the verse and help me focus my thoughts on them. God faithfully answered my prayers! First, the identification process came through recalling other instructive and inspirational Bible passages. Combined with Philippians 4:8, the passages made the things
Paul had in mind when he wrote the verse crystal clear. (The passages are presented in the first chapter.) After identifying the things to think on, I developed thoughts about them. Then, the Holy Spirit, indwelling my heart, led me to use the new thoughts to dominate my daily thinking. The new thought pattern is transforming my life by replacing and overriding destructive thoughts. Moreover, my old thought pattern dominated by circumstances is being replaced by a new joyful pattern. It now seems to me that I’m learning to think as a child of God should think. Now I can truly sing the
