Heir Force: A Bible Curriculum
()
About this ebook
Heir Force is a Bible curriculum that teaches that God the Father sent his only Son, Jesus, to earth to pay a debt we couldnt pay through his life, death, and resurrection. God the Father appointed Jesus to be heir of all things and seated him at his right hand. All who believe what Jesus did for us by dying in our place and confess their sins to him and ask for his forgiveness are made joint-heirs with Jesus. God has given us the power to become the sons of God! Along lifes journey, we will, as believers, be faced with many joys and trials.
Heir Force is analogous with living life before the Lord like we are in basic training or in boot camp. God is our commanding officer. Jesus is the perfect soldier. The Holy Spirit lives in us. The Bible is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. We are to love the Lord with all our hearts, with all our souls, and with all our minds.
Ephesians 6:1013 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The lessons of this curriculum will direct our hearts and minds to the precepts and principles that God teaches through the Bible.

PREFACE
Heir Force is a Bible curriculum designed to direct students to focus on God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Our Commanding Officer is God the Father. Our example to follow is Jesus, the Perfect Soldier. Our strength comes from God, the Holy Spirit, who is living in the hearts of believers.
Through the Bible, God’s Holy Word, this study will teach what it means to be a soldier of the Lord. Students will study God’s Word to find out how we are to live in response to what God the Father has done for us through giving His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day. He overcame death! Jesus was appointed Heir of all things and sat down at the right hand of God the Father. All who believe what Jesus did for us by dying in our place on the cross, and who repent of sin, become followers of Jesus and heirs of God. We are saved by Jesus! The Bible teaches how we should live before Him in the battlefield of life after we are saved, or born again. Our salvation marks the beginning of our walk as followers of God, Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. This walk with Him continues throughout our lives on Earth and into eternity. We become joint heirs with Jesus! The lessons that follow will direct our hearts and minds to the precepts and principles that God teaches through the Bible as we become an heir force.
—Faith Lane Callis
LESSON 1
GOD, OUR COMMANDING OFFICER
God is Our Commanding Officer in life. He is our Creator (Genesis 1:1–31). He made us and everything in six days. He rested on the seventh day. He is sovereign over everything in our lives (Psalm 139—read it out loud to the children). He gave us the Ten Commandments to teach us how to live before Him in a godly way. He gave us the commandments to protect us from the consequences of sin (Exodus 20:1–17). We are to follow the commandments as Jesus gives us the ability to walk with Him. We will never be perfect, but Jesus is perfect, and He paid the debt we couldn’t pay by dying on the cross in our place. We could never be good enough to deserve salvation. Salvation is a gift from God. Jesus paid the price of His life for us. The Father resurrected Jesus, and our chief end (or reason for living) is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. He wants us to follow His commands so that we can be truly free from the world, the flesh, and the devil. He will fill your heart with joy as you enjoy God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
God cannot accept anything less than perfection. He cannot even look upon sin. He is holy, blameless, and pure. God is such a God of love that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, Who is perfect, to pay the price for our sin. John 3:16–17 says, ¹⁶For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ¹⁷For God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
(KJSB) Jesus is the only perfect One who could have paid the price for our sin. When Jesus died on the cross, God credited His children with forgiveness from their sin and salvation was God’s gift. Jesus’s blood washed us clean so that God could accept us. What an amazing God of love we have!
God, Our Commanding Officer, is omnipotent. This means He is the ruler over all things. He has all power. Another way of saying He is the ruler over all things is to say that He is sovereign.
God, Our Commanding Officer, is omnipresent. Omnipresent means He is everywhere all of the time. He never leaves us or forsakes us. We cannot hide from God or hide anything from God. We cannot run away from His presence.
God, Our Commanding Officer, is omniscient. This means that God knows and sees all things. God has always been the same. He knows the future, the present, and the past. He wrote down every day of our lives before they ever took shape. Psalm 139:16 says, Thine eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Thy book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was not one of them
(New American Standard Bible [NASB]). The term unformed substance
here means that when you were being formed as a baby inside your mother, God had already designed your life! Wow! What an amazing Heavenly Father we have! How comforting it is to know that what God has planned is for our good and His glory. Romans
