Timeless Love - Jerry P. Cavender

    Life’s Quest

Life’s quest is to find the one who loves you,

And when love is found to return the same.

For a one-sided love will never do,

And to live without love would be a shame.

When to begin life’s quest is the question,

When should a boy and girl begin this search?

’Tis better when young to make selection,

To beat the odds or be left in the lurch.

Life’s very hard when you live it alone,

A man needs a mate to make life worthwhile.

Life’s quest is to find a mate of your own,

For two together can live life in style.

God made man to be just half of a whole,

Who would seek the one for a perfect mate.

His quest through life is a mate for his soul,

Then a perfect union God can create.

    Love Story

Sitting in class, I saw her come in.

I looked twice and wondered where she’d been.

She was laughing, surrounded by friends,

Then I knew this is where my search ends.

She looked oh so sweet and lovely too,

When I discovered that this was true.

    I knew in my heart what this did mean;

The girl meant for me, I had just seen.

    Using care, I became acquainted,

    Everything open and untainted.

I’d set my sights and she was the one,

My campaign for a wife had begun.

Proceeding with care and not too fast,

For a togetherness that would last.

    A friendly person - that’s what I’d be.

That’s how I wanted her to see me.

Little by little I changed my plan,

To let her see that I was her man.

That together we could become one,

In a life of happiness and fun.

The campaign was long but lovely, too.

Together we found our love was true.

I proposed to her and she said yes.

We started a life of happiness.

Folks, listen to me for some advice,

To find a mate who’s lovely and nice.

Try a courtship to discover love,

And marriage blessed by Lord God above.

    Love Story (Part Two)

    With just one glance,

    You stole my heart.

    I took a chance,

    I did my part.

    I’d not resist

    Those many charms.

    I did insist

    You fit my arms.

    Where will it go?

    The future’s bright.

    We could not know

    In just one night.

    Though time will tell,

    This much I know.

    I like this spell,

    I feel its glow.

    It’s built to last,

    It feels so good.

    Though years went fast,

    We knew they would.

    Little Girl

    Go away, little girl.

    It’s too soon, little girl.

    You don’t know, little girl,

    What I’ll do, little girl.

    Read the book, little girl.

    Learn each trick, little girl.

    When it’s time, little girl,

    You’ll be mine, little girl.

    You woke me, little
