    To my family and friends

I would like to dedicate this book to my family, including parents Ray and Eileen Tepera, sister Karen Tepera Franklin, half-brother Roddy Ramirez, and my children; Dalton Rosser, Dylan and Daylyn Tepera, stepson Jon Harrington, and especially to my late son Dustin Tepera.

Your love and support through all the years of turbulence and victory has made me the man I’ve become.

Special thanks to James LaCombe – Sports Editor for The Galveston County Daily Newspaper. Your mentorship over the past few years has made a tremendous impact on my writing skills.

Just know, all the names in the following stories have been changed to keep the privacy of individuals and families.

    Special Dedication

M y first born son: Specia list Dustin Ray Tepera of the 36 th Sustainment Brigade, the Texas Army National Guard, and the United States Army.

Dustin proudly and honorable served in Iraq in 2008 along with three years of creditable service. He loved all his Army buddies, but even more, loved serving his country.

When Dustin returned home from war, just like many others, he struggled with complications of PTSD – Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder.

After a two year period of unsuccessful treatment, PTSD finally got the better of him. The Tepera family sadly lost one of our prized members on September 15, 2012.

Even though Dustin only lived 23 years, he gave us all a lifetime of wonderful memories.
