INTRODUCTION

In writing this book, it is my sincere desire to bring spiritual truth to light. Not only for the benefit of men but women as well on how to recognize and more importantly, become spiritually mature in this flesh driven world.

My perspective is from the male point of view but can be utilized by women as well. I offer this book as a wakeup call for men and as a blueprint for women inside the mind and behavior of a man. For couples, this book offers you honest and practical relationship information as it relates to you, your mate and how to determine where you are spiritually in your walk with one another. The difference is that those I am trying to reach, must have eyes to see and ears to hear. Not physical eyes and ears . . . . but spiritual ones.

CHAPTER 1

From the Beginning

As a man over the age of 50, I often look around to see where men of my age group are in relation to spiritual maturity. I see some men who have grown older into spiritual maturity and some who have failed to do so. Therefore, I conclude age does not automatically equal spiritual maturity. Some young men exhibit more maturity than their elders. Yet other men, no matter their age, exhibit no spiritual maturity whatsoever. These men continue to exhibit juvenile behavior. Why is this? And how can we begin to understand the spiritually immature man? Many authors have written books about relationships between men and women. Some authors have written from an educated; clinical point of view. Whereas I respect the efforts and work of these authors’, The Spiritually Mature Man, will examine relationships from the spiritual realm, from which the author has a degree from Life University. It is my contention that the differences between men and women; while complex in nature are not designed to be fully understood. They are merely differences that separate male from female behavior. In my opinion, if we spent more time trying to understand ourselves, perhaps the logical conclusion would lead us to simply accept each other for who we are and not what we wish each other to be. No one can begin to know someone else without first knowing oneself. Once this step is completed, we can then allow nature to follow its pre-determined course. Nature itself is basically the inherited or habitual condition and tendencies of a person, be they male or female. In other words, there are genetically inborn characteristics which make us who and what we are. I believe this is the basis for the behavior of young men in general, as well as some older spiritually immature men. Men, by and large are not complex creatures at all. In their very essence, the behavior they exhibit goes against God’s written principles. Some might ask—didn’t God create nature? Of course He did. However, in doing so, God offered us the choice
