About this ebook

One’s Perspective is a collection of poems written from the 1960s to the present day that speak of teenage curiosity, lost and found relationships, social turmoil, and wisdom of the years. It is the culmination of a lifetime of reflection, just snippets in time framed in poetic verse from one baby boomer’s point of view. One’s Perspective will lead you to recall a time when you felt deeply about a given topic, one that made you feel compelled to take a side, to march for a cause, and maybe to shed a quiet tear or two or to write a poem. But no matter how you feel today, opinions evolve and points of view change. So after reading each poem, keep in mind that it’s only one’s perspective.

Author

Timothy J. Donovan Jr.

Timothy J. Donovan Jr. was born in New York City in the early 1950’s and moved to the suburbs of Long Island as a teenager. His talent as a writer was first revealed as a singer-songwriter in several acoustic rock bands in the 60’s and 70’s. The love of poetry came next while attending college where he learned to appreciate the words of the great poets of the past, along with Paul Simon, the Beatles and Bob Dylan. Now, after more than 45 years of traveling the world in the Aerospace Industry as an Instructor/Consultant, he continues to write his unique perspective on every day issues. His first book is filled with poetic snapshots of the past 5 decades from an always questioning teenage viewpoint, all the way to a grandfather’s words of wisdom. The book is aptly named, One’s Perspective. In his second book he turns quotes, proverbs and sayings into unique passages of poetic insight, with just a title and 2 lines. His love of the written word is clearly evident in The Book of Quoems.
