Itain Ali

Itain Ali was born in Cairo, Egypt and grew up in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates till she returned to Cairo in her teenage years. She battled BPD and Depression at an early age, with writing being her personal therapy. She suffered many tragic losses which along with her illnesses she turned them into poetry. She became a life coach and mental health specialist to help those like her navigate through life and ‘not feel alone’. Her personal motto is ‘Don’t be a Survivor, Be a Thriver.”

In the absence of your grace

I lay in the beauty of neglect

Closed in the tomb of your love

I sleep with the unloved tonight

The agony of her torturous kiss

Drives me with the insanity of jealous rage

An everlasting touch of the cold winds

As I close my eyes in the eternity of unrest

So, said the headstone of my tomb

As the angel of fickle mortality loses

Against the herald of Cupid’s immortality

Where we lay warmed in our cold eternal love
