Black Love is a compilation put together by me, author Sherika Moore. The passion that I have for people runs deep in my veins. I wanted to bring people together through art, words, short stories, and poetry. Many people wonder about open doors to success, and many may take the chance. I decided to create openings. In Black Love, there are various artists who express their inner talents and passion. I am proud to present this to the world.
Black Love
BLACK LOVE stands for black legacies our ancestors created for us to keep living on and value each other’s solid roots.
Our African roots are so strong, the spirit trickles down from generation to generation. The love that was instilled in me, in every race, in the creation of God—we can feel it.
My skin has never mattered when it comes to love, but the world begs to differ. My black touches with power. My black speaks with power. My black loves with power. My black believes in the spiritual and physical reproduction of the human race. My black can’t just be defined by color but by good works, loyalty, and honor.
The black love I display comes from a place of peace, a place I never got to experience but my family has talked about—slavery. The love they had for one another was deeply rooted, the strength they posed passed down to me, and I carry their life lessons close like the Bible.
My black love goes against Willie Lynch’s theory. I stand for the people, their well-being, mental state, and ethics. My black teaches the untaught and prepares you from life’s tricks and self-destruction. My black is black love deeply rooted.
