Alan Johnson

Alan Johnson was General Secretary of the Communication Workers Union before entering Parliament as Labour MP for Hull West and Hessle in 1997. He served as Home Secretary from June 2009 to May 2010. Before that, he filled a wide variety of cabinet positions in both the Blair and Brown governments. His childhood memoir This Boy (Bantam Press, 2013) won the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize, and the Orwell Prize. His second memoir Please Mr Postman (2014) won the National Book Club award for Best Biography. The Long and winding Road, the final book in his memoir trilogy, won the Parliamentary Book Award for Best Memoir.

    Introduction

    We go through turmoil’s in life, many times we do not regard what is happening around us in what we do or the way we act in certain situations, especially when it comes to people. People can see us usually better than we can see ourselves. We may not want to admit it, but 80% of the time when things are not working out in life, it’s not Satan, it’s definitely not God, but it’s you. It is mostly in the way you talk, your actions and the decisions you make.

    There are seven areas in life where we can cause our lives can be at a standstill and one, I can say it is just the enemy. Yes, God will just sit back and watch and see what you do. No, in some situations, your prayers will not be answered because there might be areas in your life that you need to examine see and acknowledge. Seriously, you need to forgive or except forgiveness and get on your knees and repent sincerely to the Lord for your behavior. I experienced some of these areas in my life, sat with God and had some serious arguments out of frustration. and most of time
